Our light equipment and tableware group is going from strength to strength. We are delighted to have the addition of the well known market brand, Cambro, as one of our newest FEA members. They answered a few questions for us...

Tell us about how your business got started.

Cambro was started in the 50’s in sunny California by two brothers, who wanted to make a better tray for use in the healthcare industry. They started in a single garage beside the beach.

What do you love most about the foodservice equipment industry?

No two days are the same. We work with incredible people and places, all striving to do better. Supplying into a service industry, we don’t have to be transactional, instead we nurture meaningful relationships with customers who sometimes become friends.

What is the biggest challenge for your business right now?

We saw a shift in purchasing patterns where consumers downtraded to lower priced, reduced quality and unbranded items. We must help end users understand cost in use and offer problem solving solutions in order to step away from price objections.

What are the drawing factors for joining FEA?

To stay abreast of changing legislation and market trends. To learn from, and contribute to, the wealth of knowledge and expertise held by the collective members.
