Tell us about how your business got started.

Macintosh Foodservice Consultants was founded to provide truly independent, client-focused consultancy within the foodservice equipment sector. The aim from day one was to create a business built on integrity, transparency, and delivering measurable value to clients. Since launching, we’ve grown steadily, working across a wide range of projects in the UK and internationally, from hospitality venues and hotels to large-scale, high-volume operations, always with a focus on quality, efficiency, and long-term performance.

What do you love most about the foodservice equipment industry?

It’s the people and the pace. The industry is full of knowledgeable, passionate professionals who take real pride in what they do. There’s also a unique level of collaboration; consultants, manufacturers, and distributors working closely together to solve problems and deliver complex projects. No two projects are ever the same, which keeps things interesting, and there’s always something new to learn as technology, sustainability, and client expectations continue to evolve.

What is the biggest challenge for your business right now?

Maintaining independence in an increasingly commercialised market. There is growing pressure across the industry to align with supply chains or commercial interests, but we remain firmly focused on providing unbiased, client-led advice. Ensuring that decisions are made in the best long-term interests of the client, rather than short-term commercial gain, this is becoming more important than ever, and something we are committed to protecting.

What are the drawing factors for joining FEA?

The FEA is a key organisation within our industry and plays a vital role in setting standards, supporting best practice, and bringing the sector together. For us, joining was a natural step. It reflects our commitment to professionalism, collaboration, and staying closely connected to the wider market. The work the FEA does in representing the industry, supporting its members, and promoting excellence is hugely valuable, and we’re pleased to be part of that community.

Anything else you’d like to add?

The UK continues to produce some of the most respected foodservice consultants globally, and it’s great to see that expertise recognised on an international stage. We’re proud to be part of that and to represent UK consultancy on projects around the world. As an industry, there is a real opportunity to continue raising standards, embracing innovation, and working more collaboratively to deliver better outcomes for clients.
