In 2016 Hotelympia will unveil its greatest-ever line up of catering equipment suppliers under one roof, done with the staunch backing of the UK’s largest catering equipment association, CESA. Here, chairman, Simon Frost talks exclusively about his love for Hotelympia and what visitors can expect from 2016’s event.

What sets Hotelympia apart from others shows?
SF: For foodservice equipment buyers it’s a once-every-two-years opportunity to see all the latest equipment developments under one roof.  In 2016 there are some very significant new products being launched as a result of market drivers as varied as the Ecodesign Directive, the increasing push towards smaller kitchens that can produce bigger volumes of food, the demands of food safety and the rise of theatre-style cooking. 
 
What can visitors expect to see at the show?
SF: Visitors will see equipment that saves energy, water and other resources.  Equipment that increases the yield of raw food.  Equipment that‘s faster than ever, yet delivers better quality cooking results.  Equipment that’s easier to operate than before – and can help staff with instructions in multiple languages.  Multifunctional equipment that can replace several conventional appliances.  Smaller models with big production capacities.  Equipment that’s easier to clean and maintain, helping comply with HACCP. Better looking equipment for front of house or back of bar.  In short, equipment that can help operators gain a competitive edge. 
 
What would you recommend taking in at the show?
SF: Look out for new and exciting models from manufacturers of areas like warewashing, waste management and refrigeration as well as cooking appliances.
